This website is a tribute to the most exciting time in Toronto’s nightlife history. The late 80’s and early 90’s were a laboratory for classic house music coming from the US and the UK. This music cried out for racial harmony, understanding, acceptance and love. Not surprisingly, this movement took root in the most multi-cultural city in the world – Toronto. It was a different place then. Learn more about it here.
Curated Nostalgia
Reminisce was a series of events that ran in Toronto in the mid 90’s to the mid 2000’s.
Bespoke invitations. Custom retro photo showcases and some of the most incredible music selections from some of Toronto’s finest DJ’s (pre-1990).
This site aims to revive and record those events. But it also celebrates the events that came a decade before it. We have a diverse collection of vintage Toronto classic house flyers that we are also excited to share. Along with rare footage and performances long forgotten.
What this website becomes still remains to be seen. For now, We’re just going to use it to create an ongoing human record of the music from this special time. With the hopes that it finds its audience.
The past is History.
The Future, a mystery.
Today is a gift. That’s why it’s called the Present.
