Reminisce was a popular classic house music event hosted in Toronto from 1999 – 2005. All of the music selections were from 1990 and beyond, drawing upon the nostalgia of the golden age of House. Unquestionably, Toronto has been recognized as playing a significant role in the history of this scene. Inspiring a diverse group of Canadians to keep the spirit of House alive. The quality of this city’s record stores, night life district and creativity is known the world over. House is the foundation.
The emergence of House in the US and the UK in the mid 80’s was a special thing. Intermingled with immortal RnB and Disco tracks, House was a phenomenon that dominated the club district and the after hours warehouse scene. The earliest tracks were (to many) some of the best examples of this. Reminisce is a chronicle of a magical time and place.
Unlike most events like it that followed, Reminisce was also an art experience. Featuring customized exhibits of classic photography and quotes from that time period. Guests would arrive early to socialize in the present – while looking back on the past. The brand tagline remains an enigma to those who were never there. An invitation to be in two places at once.
Archive
Music from the Reminisce Playlist continues to grow. Each day, new discoveries are made and lost tracks are discovered. Each are captured in the blog as posts with video, images and human written content. Old flyers are framed as artifacts from a lost civilization. Memory lane has no cover charge.

Reminisce is still evolving. One aspect that remains the same is human creativity. Whether in music or visual arts, Reminisce remains as a reflection of fond memories and friendships. The art represented here, and the art projects in development are created by Adam Jarvis. Recognized by Canada Council for the Arts as a Digital Visual Artist.
